Brooklyn NY-based singer, guitarist, and songwriter Ronnie Wheeler makes his solo debut with his mesmerizing version of the blues classic “Mean Old World”. Recording in the ‘field recording’ style of the 1930s (a la Alan Lomax) the song features some of the east coast’s top players — Don Fiorino (lap steel guitar); Phil Gammage (blues harp); and Paul Wexler (piano).

Fans of traditional blues will enjoy this song as well as newcomers to the genre. This is not another sterile, overproduced, and auto-tuned blues recording churned out by large corporate labels, but rather a homespun recording with an incredible vibe.

When not performing his scorching acoustic blues, Mr. Wheeler can be found playing in the Brooklyn-based combos Red Gretchen and Badavocado.
